Who We Are

We are South Florida Parent Center: SFPTIC. Our business is sharing practical disability resources and skills with all parents to work collaboratively with the leaders of any school for the sake of their children. Our focus is that parents of children with disabilities of all ages, self-advocates, adults, elders, and people at risk with their families are equipped with the necessary disability education to navigate the disability system to advocate for themselves professionally.

To support parents in this process, the School District of Collier County’s Exceptional Student Education (ESE) department contracts with South Florida Parent Center to assist you with training in the disability areas of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, information about parent rights, technical assistance and support with understanding identification/evaluation, and the Individual Educational Plan (IEP) and Transition process.
